How does it work?

Permanent make-up is a type of cosmetic tattooing that use pharmaceutical grade pigments which are applied to the upper dermis of the skin.

Does the procedure hurt?

It is no more painful than having your eyebrows tweezed. The equipment used is digitally computerised and designed to eliminate any distress to your skin.

How long does it last?

Pigments will remain in the skin, but over years the colour can fade, but don't worry, with a boost every 12 to 18 months, it will refresh that wonderful colour!

What should I expect after the treatment?

Immediately after a treatment the colour appears 30-50% darker that your chosen shade. This is because the pigment takes around 7 days to enter the deeper layers of the skin. After 7 to 10 days exfoliation takes place where you may experience some dryness and flaking, leaving your chosen shade underneath. The result is natural looking enhancement.

As the treated area is settling down, itching may occur. This is a good sign as it means the skin is healing. Some clients may experience slight swelling and redness of the area, which usually subsides within 24-48 hours.

What about alleric reactions?

Nouveau Contour pigments are of the highest pharmaceutical grade and are hypoallergenic. Allergic reaction is extremely rare, but we do always recommend a patch test 48 hours before treatment.

What factors will affect permanent make-up?

How long you spend in the sun / on sunbeds. The sun fades pigment faster. so sun block is recommended to prolong your enhancement.

The choice of colour. Some colours fade more quickly than others eg a lighter colour will fade faster than a darker pigment.

The area of the treatment. Enhancements to the eyes and lips fade faster than to the brows, as the tissue in these areas is thinner and is always moist.
